The MiGS Switch-to-Issuer (S2I) service directly routes authorization requests received by the MiGS payment server to the issuer on behalf of the acquirer.
The resulting approved transaction data required for clearing is delivered to the acquirer in a flat file for clearing and settlement. This eliminates the need for authorization connectivity to the acquirer, reducing both costs and the time required to obtain transaction approvals and authorizations.
The figure below illustrates the message flow for Switch-to-Issuer using MiGS:
Acquirers benefit from the MiGS Switch-to-Issuer service in many ways:
• | Simple processing flow sends transactions directly to the Issuer for authorization. |
• | Improved response times for merchants and their customers. |
• | Improved service with higher availability and fewer potential failure points in the process. |
• | Cost reductions for Acquirers as no integration or certification costs are required. |
• | The daily settlement file (Draft Capture Files) is still sent to the Acquirer for processing. |
